Role: Samuel Production: Spread Location: Instituto Cervantes, London Performance Date: 9 April 2026 Character Description: Samuel is a young man navigating identity, pressure, and vulnerability in a world that often demands more than it gives. He is observant, emotionally present, and carries both innocence and quiet strength. The role requires an actor who can balance subtlety with intensity, and who is comfortable exploring layered, character-driven work. Casting Breakdown: Male / Female (willing to play a male) Playing age: 17–25 (must convincingly play younger) Black / African / Afro-Caribbean heritage Strong emotional range and grounded presence Comfortable performing in close proximity to the audience Project Details: Spread is part of an evening of new writing presented in a micro-theatre format. Each play runs for approximately 15 minutes and is performed five times in one night to small rotating audiences (approx. 15 per performance). Rehearsals: Actors must be available for 2 rehearsals + dress/tech within the following windows: Sunday 30 March (extended availability) 10:00 – 14:00 14:30 – 18:30 17:00 – 21:00 Monday 31 March (extended availability) 10:00 – 14:00 14:30 – 18:30 17:00 – 21:00 Wednesday 1 April 10:00 – 14:00 14:30 – 18:30 (Auditorium available from 15:30 if required) Dress / Tech: Wednesday 8 April (time TBC within 10:00 – 19:00) Thursday 9 April (Performance Day) – daytime tech access before show Final rehearsal schedule will be agreed with the director based on availability.
