Founded by Jermaine Young-Bushay, a British-born Vincentian and descendant of the Windrush generation, the platform was created to address the global lack of access and visibility for Caribbean talent. As an actor and filmmaker, he has seen firsthand the barriers creatives face and built Caribbeans Connects to break them. Inspired by a powerful cultural legacy, his father, Clem Bushay, a pioneer of Lovers Rock and UK reggae, played a key role in shaping a sound that has influenced music worldwide. Caribbeans Connects exists to unite the diaspora, amplify Caribbean talent, and create opportunities without borders, ensuring creatives everywhere have a platform to be seen, connected, and cast globally.
